CONVAIR

About This Project

Disassembly, transportation and recycling of four Convair airframes

This project included the disassembly, cutting, transportation and recycling of four Convair airframes.

Disassembly took place at Mirabel International Airport (YMX). The wings were cut using our cable saw and secured on specialized flatbed trucks, along with the horizontal and vertical stabilizers, for transportation to our facility in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

The fuselages were also secured on flatbed trucks and transported to our facility for decontamination (removal of insulation from interior walls, removal of remaining plastic panels, cabling, connectors, and electronic equipment); non-aluminum materials were removed and recycled.

Management and segregation of salvaged materials were handled at our Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu facility, where a certificate of destruction was produced at the end of the project.
